About the Course
Skilled, comprehensive and precise active release/deep tissue work can provide powerful relief to people with myofascial and muscular imbalances. Learn the primary principles of intelligent and evidence-based manual therapy and discover gentle, effective and safe strategies for restoring muscular health by learning techniques that employ high precision with minimal force. These techniques have the added benefit of reducing wear and tear on the therapist’s body by respecting their ecology of movement.  


Active release is a non-invasive soft tissue method that separates fascial adhesions and clears trigger points.  The Active Release & Deep Tissue Techniques Course will discuss the guidelines, benefits and techniques of Active release/deep tissue work.   This course is essential for any healthcare professional who performs manual therapy on patients/clients to help them attain a pain-free state. 

This course is approved by the Florida Board of Massage Therapy as a hands-on credit, relevant to and focused on massage therapy techniques, skills and protocols.
 

Learning Outcomes
Upon the completion of this course, the learner will be able to:

  • Identify the primary principles of intelligent and evidence based manual therapy.
  • Recognize the value of the pin and rock strategy to soften and warm myofascial structures.
  • Recognize the value of the pin and move/active release technique strategy to access deeper layers of myofascial structures.
  • Relate the benefits of manual therapy to the ability of improving patient's functional performance.  

     

About the Author/Presenter
Peggy Lamb, MA, LMT, BCTMB, has been a bodyworker for over 25 years and a continuing education presenter for over 20 years. She is the author of five educational books/ videos for manual therapists from all disciplines. Peggy is an approved continuing education provider for the Texas Department of Health, the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, and the Florida Department of Health. She teaches nationally and is a much-in-demand presenter. 

How to Receive Credit 

  • View the entire recording which requires a 2-hour commitment of time.
  • After completion of the course, complete the final examination. A passing grade of 75% is required. Test questions link content to learning outcomes as a method to enhance individualized learning and material retention. 
    Note to Nursing professionals: Depending on your state requirements, you will be asked to either affirm that you have completed the course, or you will be required to complete the Post-test included in the course.
  • Provide required personal information and payment information.
  • Complete the mandatory course evaluation.
