Registration will begin at 8:15am. Class starts at 8:30am and ends at 5:30pm with one hour for lunch (on your own) and two scheduled breaks.

All clinicians that offer manual therapy to their clients, or patients, need to be aware of indications and contraindications for the different types of soft tissue treatments that are commonly performed. This course offers participants a detailed understanding of what patients are appropriate for hands-on treatment. 
For all providers that offer treatment to clients, or patients, that have pain, it essential to have a basic understand of pain science education in order to better help their clients, patients with their recovery. Recent research has surfaced on the benefits of IASTM, Cupping and Kinesiology taping. This courses discusses the latest research, and introduces the concept of pain science education in conjunction with hands-on care. 


Course outline and objectives includes the following:  

  • Review the evidence that supports the use of IASTM, cupping therapy, and kinesiology taping.    
    Differentiate indications and contraindications for IASTM, cupping therapy, and kinesiology taping.
  • Categorize different  techniques available for cupping and IASTM
  • Predict how to effectively utilize IASTM, cupping therapy, and kinesiology taping for the lower body  
  • Relate how pain science education and the biopsychosocial (BPS) model can be used to help patients with their pain and improve occupational performance
