About the Presenter

Jennifer S. Mensik, PhD, MBA, RN, NEA-BC, FAAN,is the President of the American Nurses Association and is currently an assistant professor for the OHSU School of Nursing. Her nursing career started in a critical access hospital and continued within the community as a home health and hospice nurse.  

Jennifer earned a PhD in Nursing from the University of Arizona College of Nursing with a major focus in health systems and a minor in public administration from the Eller College of Management. Dr. Mensik has extensive leadership experience in non-profit and academic medical centers and health systems. Additionally, she has taught and written courses for DNP, masters, and undergraduate programs.

She has authored numerous publications including the books, the books, “Lead, Drive, and Thrive in the System” and “The Nurse Mangers Guide to Innovative Staffing” and co-author for “A Nurse’s Step-By-Step Guide to Transitioning to the Professional Nurse Role,” The Power of Ten, second edition” and a chapter writer for the book “The Career Handoff: A Healthcare Leader’s Guide to Knowledge & Wisdom Transfer Across Generations.”

  • Specific to Florida: A mandatory Final Examination with a passing score of 75% or higher is required. Exam questions link content to the course Learning Outcomes as a method to enhance individualized learning and material retention.
