Mpox: A Review of the Poxvirus Previously Known as Monkeypox

30

About the Course
Since the outbreak of mpox in 2022, we have learned much about this infectious and communicable poxvirus. Traditionally, many poxviruses were named in relation to animals in which the virus was observed. However, some stigmatizing concepts and language have been attributed to the name monkeypox. So, the name of the virus has been changed from monkeypox to mpox. Join this podcast to learn more about this viral disease now referred to as mpox: presentation, identification, transmission, testing, and overall concepts related to care.

Note: This podcast was recorded in December 2022. In the rapidly evolving nature of the topic, bear in mind that some content may not remain current. Please check for updates.
