About the Course:
This course covers pharmacy professionals, nurses, and physicians who currently are or could be involved in caring for patients infected with TB. This includes health-care professionals who work in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, the learner should be able to:
  • Describe the impact of TB both globally and in the U.S. using statistics and data.
  • Discuss the types of TB and their differences.
  • Recognize the older and newer drugs for treating TB, and the appropriate doses.
  • Discuss the common adverse effects of each drug and how to manage patients who are experiencing them.
  • Design a treatment regimen for patients with each type of pulmonary TB.
  • Itemize the various methods used to ensure patient compliance to TB treatment.
About the Author:
Dumebi O. Mordi, Pharm.D, MPH, MBA is a Doctor of Pharmacy and public health consultant with over 15 years’ experience in pharmaceutical management, health systems strengthening, and experience in drug procurement, dispensing, and management. Clinically practiced in both hospital and retail settings. Professionally trained in the United States of America with a cultural and educational foundation in Lagos, Nigeria.  

How to receive credit:
  • A minimum test score of 75 percent is needed to obtain a credit.
