About the Course:
State laws and regulations governing pharmacy best practice define the day-to-day work of a pharmacy associate. From the education, training, and license needed to work in the pharmacy to the floor space necessary for each employee, laws, and regulations govern every aspect of pharmacy operation. All pharmacy employees must maintain a working knowledge of state pharmacy laws including updates to laws in annual legislative sessions. All states have variations in state pharmacy laws that distinguish them from other states while following federal law mandates. Though state laws in Arizona are similar to others, there are significant differences that must also be reviewed.

- Describe the requirements for the sale of pseudoephedrine, including quantity limits and record keeping.
- Explain patient counseling requirements and who can counsel a patient.
- Discuss the duties that may be completed by a registered pharmacy technician indicated by Arizona laws and statutes.
- List the rules and protocol for dispensing and administering an opioid antagonist as defined by Arizona law.
