About the Course
This course provides rehabilitation professionals with an understanding of the transmission and prevention of HIV, the care of persons with HIV, and the issues of living with HIV. Recent changes in terminology and staging are covered. Legal and ethical issues, including recent changes in testing, confidentiality, and reporting requirements are discussed.
Learning Objectives
Amanda Olson, DPT, PRPC, is a certified pelvic floor physical therapist practicing at a hospital-based outpatient clinic. She earned her bachelor of science degree from Pacific University, and doctorate in physical therapy from Regis University. She has been practicing physical therapy since 2008. She is certified in treatment of the pelvic floor (CAPP-PF certification) by the American Physical Therapy Association and is a pelvic rehabilitation practitioner (PRP certification) by the Herman and Wallace Institute. She is also certified in the STOTT method of Pilates and incorporates these methods into teaching and patient management.

How to Receive Credit
- Read the entire course online or in print which requires a 3-hour commitment of time.
- Depending on your state requirements you will be asked to complete:
- An affirmation that you have completed the educational activity.
- A mandatory test (a passing score of 75 percent is required). Test questions link content to learning objectives as a method to enhance individualized learning and material retention.
- Provide required personal information and payment information.
- Complete the mandatory Self-Assessment and Course Evaluation.
- Print your Certificate of Completion.
