- Evaluation and Treatment of Pelvic-Hip Complex 5This course is designed to educate the practicing clinician on how to rule out suspected medical red flags. The clinician will then learn evidence-based evaluation techniques to identify not only the presence of sacroiliac joint dysfunction but the specific dysfunction of the 10 common presentations. Tissue-specific impairments will then be addressed with a variety of manual therapy techniques including instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization, muscle energy techniques, joint manipulations, and therapeutic exercise.

Taping was once used to physically hold structures in place; now kinesiology taping is used to influence fascia and underlying neural tissues to cause functional changes in both the local tissue as well as the central nervous system. Often relegated to the athletic world, kinesiology taping has many orthopedic, neurological, pediatric, geriatric, and other specialty applications. Course content will include orthopedic assessment, adjunctive manual therapies, and kinesiology taping for joint mobility and stability applications.

About the Course
Trigger point therapy can be utilized to treat conditions such as headaches, migraines, temporomandibular joint disorder, tinnitus, and vertigo. This course defines and identifies trigger point pathophysiology and their ability to cause pain and autonomic phenomena. Muscle anatomy of the head, face, neck, shoulders, and back are reviewed along with the associated referral pain and symptoms. Hands-on demonstrations are provided for the back, shoulders, and sternocleidomastoid, as well as the head, face, and muscles of mastication.
This course is approved by the Florida Board of Massage Therapy as a hands-on credit, relevant to and focused on massage therapy techniques, skills and protocols.
