Antibiotic Stewardship

Course Objective:
The purpose of this course is to increase physicians knowledge and skills regarding antibiotic stewardship best practices. This activity will cover the seven core elements of a successful antibiotic stewardship program, interventions to improve the use of antibiotics, and methods used to track and measure antibiotic use and outcomes.

Learning Objectives
Completion of this course will better enable the course participant to:
  • Describe the 7 core elements of an antibiotic stewardship program.
  • Identify methods of initiating an antibiotic stewardship program.
  • Identify methods to assess for compliance with an antibiotic stewardship program.
  • •    Discuss complications related to inappropriate antibiotic use.
