About the Course:
The purpose of this course is to educate physicians with respect to recognizing and managing the unique healthcare needs of patients who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer (LGBTQ), with an understanding of linguistically and culturally appropriate approaches to care for these populations.

Learning Objectives:
Completion of this course will better enable the course participant to:
  • Explain the differences between sexual attraction, gender identity, and sexual behavior.
  • Describe three ways to create a welcoming and inclusive clinical environment.
  • Describe three health issues for which lesbian and bisexual patients are at heightened risk.
  • Describe three health issues for which gay and bisexual men are at heightened risk.
