Enhancing Physician Mental Health and Resilience

About the Course:
The purpose of this course is to educate physicians on the prevalence of clinician stress, burnout, depression, moral injury, and suicide; as well as the challenges to clinician well-being. This activity will provide learners evidence-based multi-disciplinary strategies for reducing mental/emotional stress and dysfunction and improving clinician resilience and well-being.

Learning Objectives:
Completion of this course will better enable the course participant to:
  • Describe the prevalence of mental illness in the physician population.
  • Explain at least three factors that can increase risk of physician mental illness and three factors that can enhance physician well-being.
  • Identify technology-related factors related to physician mental illness and strategies for addressing those factors.
  • Describe interventions that physicians can engage in to improve their resilience and well-being.
