Improving Access to Care for LGBTQ Patients

About the Course:
The purpose of this course is to help improve care and health outcomes of the LGBTQ population by recognizing the existing disparities and increased health risks present in this population. This course will examine system and provider/client barriers to equality in healthcare.

Learning Objectives:
Completion of this course will better enable the course participant to:
  • Discuss concepts regarding healthcare disparities of the LGBTQ population.
  • Identify strategies to improve healthcare access of the LGBTQ population.
  • Describe health risks within the LGBTQ community resulting from healthcare disparities.
  • Identify strategies to improve health outcomes in the LGBTQ community.
