The purpose of this course is to provide physicians with an up-to-date training covering all topic areas related to infection control and prevention that are mandated by the New York State Department of Health. The course focuses on pathogen transmission pathways in healthcare settings, strategies for preventing or limiting direct and indirect transmission, and the range of work practice controls used to prevent transmission, contain or remove potentially infectious spills, and to disinfect/sterilize medical devices and instruments.
