Yankton Medical Clinic Selects InteliChart Patient Portal

InteliChart Inc. recently announced Yankton Medical Clinic, P.C.’s selection of the company’s patient portal to attest for Meaningful Use Stage 2 and enable patients to better manage their own care. The clinic provides healthcare services to residents living in an 80-mile radius around Yankton, S.D.

InteliChart’s online patient portal will allow Yankton Medical Clinic, P.C. patients to play a more active role in their healthcare experience, using the technology to update personal and family medical history, obtain test results and pay bills following a visit. Patients will also be able to update forms, request appointments and send secure messages to providers.

“We serve a large diverse population in South Dakota and Nebraska and this will improve access for patients who want to quickly get test results or request an appointment,” said Charles Aman, CEO at Yankton Medical Clinic, P.C. “Partnering with InteliChart will help us to better connect with our patients.”

The portal, which can be accessed from a computer or mobile device, will centralize a patient and their family’s health information into one record, meaning patients will have more convenient access to the most up-to-date care information.

“Compared to other hospitals and clinics, Yankton Medical Clinic, P.C. is ahead of the game when it comes to improving patient engagement,” said Gary Hamilton, president at InteliChart. “Yankton Medical Clinic, P.C.’s efforts to improve patient-provider communication and meet Meaningful Use criteria are evidence that the healthcare industry is shifting toward care delivery that is more patient-centered and team based. We expect that this trend will continue to grow over the next few years.”

Yankton Medical Clinic, P.C. recently deployed the patient portal to the clinic’s employees and their families and is planning a patient roll-out this spring.
