FastMed Urgent Care, a Joint Commission-accredited independent urgent care organization, is enhancing its healthcare services by partnering with telemedicine platform TouchCare to offer mobile video appointments to North Carolinians via smartphone or tablet, according to a press release from FastMed.
FastMed can also see patients at one of the 57 North Carolina clinics to continue care if further evaluation or tests are needed, in which case the telemedicine appointment fee would be waived.
TouchCare’s mobile platform enables providers and health systems to offer scheduled, HIPAA-compliant video appointments to their own patients, from any mobile device. Through the partnership with FastMed, TouchCare is introducing its on-demand telemedicine module for this statewide launch following a successful pilot program.
FastMed is the largest company in the urgent care industry to achieve the Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval for accreditation in healthcare quality and safety in ambulatory healthcare. FastMed operates more than 100 clinics across North Carolina, Arizona and Texas, providing urgent care and occupational health services.
