Gallup announced the results of its survey of the most trusted professions in the United States in 2016.
Nurses topped the list for the 15th year in a row, with 84% of the public rating their standards as “high” or “very high” when it comes to honesty and ethical standards. Congress came in at the bottom of the list, with a majority of Americans (59%) rating honesty and ethical standards as “low” or “very low.”
Healthcare providers earned four spots in the top five most trusted professions this year.

- Pharmacists (67%)
- Medical doctors (65%)
- Dentists (59%)
Nurses have topped the list every year but one since Gallup first asked about them in 1999.
