Average speech and hearing professionals’ salaries by title, gender and job satisfaction
Nearly 1,400 professionals from across the country participated in our 2015 salary survey. Like last year, we asked for an exact salary amount instead of a salary range. A total of 1,370 respondents contributed through the online edition of ADVANCE for Speech & Hearing Professionals between Nov. 10, 2015, and Feb. 29, 2016.
Part 1 of this three-part series showed the average salary for all full-time respondents to be $67,519.
When it comes to title, speech-language pathologists are the largest group of respondents in our annual salary survey (46%); however, audiologists earned the most among all of our survey takers with an average salary of $79,180.
And while women continue to dominate the field, in our survey, men who are staff SLPs said they earn an average of 20% to 25% more than women in the same position.
Still, most of you apparently enjoy your work a great deal as nearly 9 in 10 of our survey takers describe themselves as being satisfied better with their jobs.
