Join us as Dr. Kelly Carden discusses the basics of sleep medicine, with a concentration on obstructive sleep apnea and its treatments. The specific treatment known as “oral appliance therapy” or “mandibular advancement device therapy” will be discussed in detail, including the proper patient selection, communication with the dental sleep medicine practitioner, fabrication of the device, calibration of the device, and anticipated clinical results. Questions are welcome after the presentation.

About the Speaker: Kelly A. Carden, MD, MBA, is a nationally known educational course director, author and lecturer on sleep medicine. She is actively involved with the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM), including in her role as chairman of the AASM Committee on Coding and Compliance. In 2005, she was named a Fellow of the AASM and Diplomate of the American Board of Sleep Medicine. Dr. Carden is a physician champion for the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM), for whom she lectures regularly. She volunteers her time as the vice-president of the Tennessee Sleep Society, as a member of the advisory board of Wake Up Narcolepsy, and lectures to the community about the importance of sleep/impact of sleep disorders. She currently practices in Nashville, Tenn.
