Invacare’s Chairman in Homecare Panel Discussion

Invacare’s Chairman of the Board Mal Mixon served on an expert panel discussing the impact of health care reform on home care at the 2011 American Academy of Home Care Physicians annual scientific meeting, held last month at the Gaylord Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland.

The national health care debate is focused on identifying and paying for health care that provides the best and most cost appropriate outcomes. As this shift in care and treatment progresses, homecare will prove to be a key component of the continuum of care. This year’s conference was entitled “Health Care is Going Home: The Future is Now.” Mixon represented the home medical equipment (HME) industry and medical device manufacturers on a panel that included industry leaders and experts in home health care, hospice and physician house call programs.
