About the Course
Healthcare providers in various areas of practice require the most up-to-date information on managing patients with sepsis, yet information on sepsis management, as well as specific information on antimicrobial therapies, is published frequently and providers may be unable to keep up with all of the information. This course will review the most recent sepsis guidelines, as well as updates to the guidelines and recent publications related to antimicrobial therapy.

Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of course, the learner will be able to:
  • Explain sepsis pathophysiology and patient presentation considerations.
  • Discuss criteria to evaluate when assessing sepsis and risk for negative outcomes.
  • Describe management and treatment approaches according to the newest evidence-based guidelines and apply to a case-patient with sepsis.
  • Identify opportunities where different members of the interprofessional team can contribute directly to the care of a patient with sepsis.
