About the Author
Heather O'Connell is a Registered Respiratory therapist with 5+ years of teaching experience. I have been in practice since August 2007, and I have worked in various fields of respiratory care including critical care, labor and delivery, the emergency department and other specialty areas. As part of my career, I moved into the educational realm and began working as a clinical associate and doing beside care with students. In 2016, I moved into full time teaching as a professor at our local college to teach in various courses in the respiratory care program. These courses include assessment, therapeutics, pre-clinic courses, and all clinic courses that encompass various aspects of the respiratory care field. I also began teaching in the bachelor’s level course teaching healthcare administration courses and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation.
