About the Course
This course describes people at risk for a mental health crisis, symptoms of people who are experiencing a mental health crisis, and strategies to respond to a client who is currently experiencing a mental health crisis. The role of peer support and community health workers are also defined.?

Content Presenters
Dr. Candace Pierce DNP, RN, CNE, COI, is a nurse leader committed to ensuring nurses are well prepared and offered abundant opportunities and resources to enhance their skills acquisition and confidence at the bedside. With 16 years in nursing, she has worked at the bedside, in management, and in nursing education. She has demonstrated expertise and scholarship in innovation and design thinking in healthcare and education and collaborative efforts within and outside of healthcare. Scholarship endeavors include funded grants, publications, and presentations. As a leader, Dr. Pierce strives to empower others to create and deploy ideas and embrace their professional roles as leaders, change agents, and problem solvers. ?
Dr. Robin McCormick, DNP, RN, a nurse leader for over 20 years in nursing practice, leadership, management, and education. Dr. McCormick has published and presented on topics relevant to nursing practice and education on the local, national, and international levels. Dr. McCormick currently teaches undergraduate nursing, where she focuses on developing strategies to improve student success. With a passion for improving community health outcomes. Dr. McCormick has a research focus on mental health, maternal-child outcomes, and community health. Dr. McCormick strives to develop training that will empower individuals and communities to achieve their highest level of health and well-being.?
Dr. Robyn Caldwell DNP, FNP-BC, has been a leader for over 30 years in nursing practice, education, and mentoring. Her expertise includes adult mental healthcare, emergency nursing, and urgent care in rural settings. Dr. Caldwell has a passion for curriculum development with an emphasis on student success. She has designed clinical FNP programs, student success programs, and critical thinking workshops. Dr. Caldwell has published and presented on topics relevant to nursing education and patient outcomes in local, state, and national venues. Her research interests include mental health, critical thinking, and student success. Currently, Dr. Caldwell is studying for a post-masters as an advanced practice mental health nurse practitioner.?
How to Receive Credit
