Suicide Risk: Assessment and Prevention

About the Course 
This course provides an overview of the suicide assessment, treatment, and management of suicide risk training for psychologists, social workers, marriage and family therapists, professional counselors, and other healthcare providers. Included are a variety of best practice and evidence-based intervention strategies as well as current and recommended language regarding patient-centric suicide terminology.

About the Author
Michelle Ertl, PsyD is a clinical psychologist working in private practice. Dr. Ertl completed her professional training through the Veterans Affairs system prior to transitioning into community practice. As a licensed psychologist, Dr. Ertl has focused her clinical work in treating adults, with particular emphasis in the treatment of PTSD. Dr. Ertl has experience in a broad variety of evidence-based treatments, including EMDR, Prolonged Exposure, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Dr. Ertl is additionally in process of completing her certification to become a sex therapist. Her private practice aims to work with individuals whose trauma reactions play a role in their sexual functioning.
