In this course, students will learn about properly performing facial extractions during a client service. The course will cover facial extraction performed in salons, spas, and medical offices and when this service is recommended. 


Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, the learner should be able to:

  • Review the procedure for safely performingfacial extractions during a facial or other skin care treatment.
  • Define facial extractions and the skin issuesthe procedure is designed to treat.
  • Describe skin conditions that benefit fromfacial extractions.
  • Recognize the signs of skin irritation or injuryafter facial extractions with specific examples of symptoms.
  • Utilize best practices to successfully perform afacial extraction in a salon, medical spa, or doctor’s office.
  • Discuss the benefits and risks of facial extractions.
  • Conduct a thorough client consultation todetermine skin type, allergies, and skin conditions before performing a facialextraction.  
  • Recognize products and tools used in facialextraction procedures and utilize proper infection control.
