Human Trafficking
For renewal cycles beginning in 2024 and 2025, Virginia Medical Board licensees must complete 1 hour on human trafficking; at this time, this is a one-time requirement.

Course option: Human Trafficking and Exploitation

Electronic Death Registration System Tutorial Attestation
Applicants who expect their scope of practice to include signing death certificates must attest on their licensure or renewal application that they have viewed the Virginia Department of Health's online tutorial on the Electronic Death Registration System, one time. No CE hours are required for this attestation.

Practice-Based or Conditional Requirements

Office-Based Anesthesia (Without Anesthesiologist or CRNA)
MDs and DOs who administer office-based anesthesia without an anesthesiologist or CRNA present must complete 4 hours in anesthesia-related topics every renewal period.

Course option: Moderate Sedation
