The information below is a summary of the minimum requirements set forth by the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners. For a more detailed requirements breakdown, please see the board's site.

Texas PTs and PTAs are legally required to complete continuing competence (CC) activities to maintain professional licensure - for PTs, 30 units (CCUs) during each two-year renewal cycle, for PTAs, 20 units (CCUs).
All licensees must complete the Jurisprudence Assessment Module (TX JAM) as part of their total continuing competence requirements.
A minimum of 1 CCU of Human Trafficking Prevention Training approved by the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is required as mandated in HB 2059 during the 86th Legislature in 2019.
