About the Author/Presenter
Mike Linares MSN, RN has over 15 years of experience in healthcare, including work as a Registered Nurse, EMT and paramedic. After a challenging nursing school experience he was motivated to create and found SimpleNursing, a platform dedicated to providing accessible and effective study resources for nursing students. Having helped over 1 million students become nurses, he continues to focus his efforts on educating and inspiring the next generation of nurses.

Professor Alison Colvin MSN, BA, RN is an Assistant Professor and has been a nurse educator since 2016. She also represents the university on the National Faculty Advisory Council and was a Daisy Award recipient in both 2018 and 2021. Before academia, Alison gained extensive clinical experience in a variety of settings, including Northwestern Memorial Hospital and the St. Louis VA Hospitals, where she worked in neurosurgery, telemetry, and medical-surgical units. She also held roles at SSM Health Care and Carle Foundation Hospital, specializing in orthopedic and neurovascular care.
