Course Overview
The goal of this application-based activity is to help pharmacists manage patients with chronic heart failure.  

Learning Outcomes 
Upon the completion of this course, the learner should be able to:

  • Identify common signs and symptoms of heart failure.
  • Choose the correct heart failure classification based on a patient’s ejection fraction.
  • Assess a patient to determine their ACC/AHA/HFSA stage and NYHA functional classification.
  • Recommend medication therapy for chronic heart failure.
  • Review considerations for safe use of medications in patients with heart failure.

About the Author/Presenter 
Flora Harp, PharmD is the Director of Content Development at Colibri Healthcare. She obtained her PharmD degree from Wayne State University and completed a community practice residency at CVS Health, focused on clinical program support. Flora went on to hold different roles at CVS Health where she supported various clinical services and programs. Prior to joining TRC Healthcare in 2016, Flora was a Clinical Services Manager at Thrifty White Pharmacy where she oversaw clinical programs including immunizations, rapid diagnostic testing, and medication therapy management. In her 9 years as an Editor at TRC Healthcare, Flora authored and managed the content development and accreditation for hundreds of continuing education courses. Flora is passionate about providing clinicians with education they need to take care of their patients and is interested in tying educational interventions back to clinical outcomes.
