Course Overview
This interprofessional course explores the rapidly changing landscape of chronic heart failure management, with a focus on new pharmacological treatments, emerging device technologies, and the expanding role of telemedicine in optimizing patient outcomes. Designed for a diverse clinical audience—including physicians, nurses, and pharmacists, this course emphasizes collaborative care models, clinical application of guideline-directed therapies, and the integration of digital health tools to support patient-centered care. Through case-based learning and current evidence reviews, participants will gain a deeper understanding of therapeutic innovations and practical strategies to improve heart failure management across care settings.
Learning Outcomes
Upon the completion of this course, the learner should be able to:
- Identify up-to-date pathophysiologic mechanisms of heart failure across phenotypes.
- Summarize contemporary heart failure diagnostic tools, including biomarkers and imaging.
- Present guideline-directed medical therapy (GDMT) consistent with 2022–2025 American Heart Association (AHA), American College of Cardiology (ACC), and Heart Failure Society of America (HFSA) guidelines.
- Utilize device-based and nonpharmacologic interventions in the treatment of heart failure.
- Address heart failure management in special populations.
- Explore emerging research for daily practice in the management of heart failure.
About the Author/Presenter
Dalia Saha, MD, is board-certified in internal medicine and serves as a hospice medical director. Dr. Saha received her training at Brown University and has since dedicated her career to medical education, teaching, and medical writing. With a passion for imparting knowledge and enhancing patient care, Dr. Saha brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her role, ensuring excellence in both clinical practice and educational endeavors.
