Renewal CE Requirements

Osteopathic Physicians
Missouri DOs must complete 50 hours every renewal period (biennial), which may be AMA Category 1, AOA Category 1-A or 2-A, or AAFP Prescribed Credit. All hours may be AMA Category 1.

DOs may also simply take Category 1 credit.

Mandatory CE Topics

Nutrition
Within the 50 hours required every renewal period, Missouri MDs and DOs must complete at least 1 hour on the health benefits of nutrition.

Federal Requirements

DEA MATE Act Requirement
DEA-registered practitioners, except those who are solely veterinarians, must complete an 8-hour training on treating and managing patients with opioid or other substance use disorders. This applies one time to DEA registrations or renewals submitted on or after June 27, 2023.
