About the Course
This course is designed to give the students a comprehensive look at the body changes that occur during pregnancy and the best bodywork techniques to support the client during this time.
This course is approved by the Florida Board of Massage Therapy as a hands-on credit, relevant to and focused on massage therapy techniques, skills and protocols.
Learning Outcomes
- Describe the changes the body goes through to support the growing baby.
- List the various massage techniques that will help to safely alleviate stress and tension on weight bearing joints.
- Students will list the common conditions that occur in pregnancy that require caution or a doctor’s referral.
- Students will identify the appropriate positions to use in all stages of pregnancy to make the mother comfortable.
About the Author
Danielle Almendinger is a Licensed Massage Therapist with an associate degree from Career Training Academy. Her passion for massage grew out of a desire to free her loved ones from the physical pain they were feeling in their bodies. That desire stayed with her throughout her teenage years. In turn, prompting her to attend massage therapy school.
In her early career, Danielle found herself in a spa setting. Soon after she started her own massage therapy practice focusing in the specialty areas of Reproductive Health, Prenatal, and Postpartum massage. A mother herself, she has firsthand experience with the many different physical and emotional changes a woman undergoes during this time in her life. She is honored that so many women have allowed her to be a part of their journey in this regard.
In addition to practicing massage Danielle’s career path has taken her into teaching others. She has taught at her local massage therapy school for several years as well as teaching continuing education in various parts of the country.
How to Receive Credit

- Answer the final examination questions at the end of the course. A passing grade of 75% is required. Test questions link content to learning objectives as a method to enhance individualized learning and material retention.
