Through real-life malpractice cases, this series provides insights into the factors contributing to diagnostic errors and actionable strategies to improve diagnostic accuracy. Each episode serves as a cautionary tale and a guide to fostering a culture of accountability, empathy, and continuous improvement in patient care. 

Learning Outcomes 
Upon the completion of this course, the learner should be able to:

  • Recognize the cognitive biases, communication breakdowns, and systemic inefficiencies that lead to diagnostic errors. 
  • Evaluate real-life examples of missed or delayed diagnoses to understand how errors occurred, and the lessons learned from these cases. 
  • Describe the legal and ethical implications of diagnostic errors and the importance of accountability and transparency in patient care.
