This course examines a high-acuity infusion reaction, Red Man Syndrome (RMS), as it unfolds during vancomycin administration in an ICU setting. Through narrative reenactment and clinical analysis, the course helps nurses differentiate RMS from anaphylaxis, understand the underlying pathophysiology of histamine-mediated reactions, and explore the critical importance of adhering to evidence-based infusion rates.
