NEW! DEA MATE ACT:
Beginning with DEA initial registrations or renewals starting June 27, 2023, all DEA-registered practitioners (with the exception of DVM-only license holders) are required to complete 8 hours of one-time training on the treatment and management of patients with opioid or other substance use disorders.

The following requirements must be met:

  • Currently certified or re-certified in your specialty area OR, if licensed as an APRN prior to July 1, 1992, you have practiced at least 400 hours during the past 2 years AND have completed 30 hours of approved continuing education.
  • Completed at least ONE of the approved online suicide prevention trainings.
  • Completed at least 4 hours of approved continuing education in controlled substance prescribing per license renewal period, including: 3.5 hours of approved controlled substance education AND .5 hours from DOPL’s online controlled substance tutorial.
