About the Course 
Learners will be able to define and recognize common causes of core dysfunction. Additionally, learners will investigate observation techniques to assess core dysfunction in patients. This course will provide individuals with preventative measures and exercise programming solutions to restore core function, helping them improve functional and occupational performance. 

Learning Outcomes 
Upon the completion of this course, the learner will be able to:

  • Define core dysfunction. 
  • Identify the most common causes of core dysfunction.
  • List preventative measures to utilize during activities of daily living and occupational performance to avoid core dysfunction. 
  • Identify exercise programs to help patients strengthen core muscles and remedy core dysfunction, improving functional and occupational performance. 

About the Author/Presenter 
Vince Fedorowich is currently the head athletic trainer and an instructor in the Division of Health Sciences at Missouri Valley College. Vince has been taking care of and educating student-athletes at Missouri Valley College for the past eight years. He holds a master's degree in education (with an emphasis on athletic training) from Old Dominion University and received his bachelor of arts while double majoring in physical education and athletic training from Graceland University. Vince is a certified athletic trainer who possesses a Missouri Athletic Training license. Prior to Missouri Valley College, Vince traveled throughout the United States practicing as an athletic trainer in professional hockey, baseball, and high school settings. Through his experience and education, he developed interests in the areas of treatment and prevention of lower back injuries and concussion management.

  • View the entire recording which requires a 1-hour commitment of time.
  • After completion of the course, complete the final examination. A passing grade of 75% is required. Test questions link content to learning outcomes as a method to enhance individualized learning and material retention.
