Course Overview
Review Texas pharmacy laws and rules to help meet continuing education requirements for registration renewal in Texas.

Learning Outcomes 
Upon the completion of this course, the learner should be able to:

  • Review the requirements to become a pharmacy technician and to maintain active registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Discuss continuing education rules for pharmacy technicians in Texas.
  • List the tasks pharmacy technicians may perform and those that only a pharmacist can perform.
  • Explain requirements for prescriptions dispensed in Texas pharmacies.
     

About the Author/Presenter 
Flora Harp, PharmD is the Director of Content Development at Colibri Healthcare. She obtained her PharmD degree from Wayne State University and completed a community practice residency at CVS Health, focused on clinical program support. Flora went on to hold different roles at CVS Health where she supported various clinical services and programs. Prior to joining TRC Healthcare in 2016, Flora was a Clinical Services Manager at Thrifty White Pharmacy where she oversaw clinical programs including immunizations, rapid diagnostic testing, and medication therapy management. In her 9 years as an Editor at TRC Healthcare, Flora authored and managed the content development and accreditation for hundreds of continuing education courses. Flora is passionate about providing clinicians with education they need to take care of their patients and is interested in tying educational interventions back to clinical outcomes.
