Here's what you need to renew your California Pharmacy license

The information below is a summary of the minimum requirements set forth by the California State Board of Pharmacy. For a more detailed requirements breakdown, please see the board's site.

Online Info

Mandatory subjects:

  • 2 hours of board-provided course in law and ethics
    • Per California Code of Regulations section 1732.5(b) this course must be provided by the Board. Please the California Board of Pharmacy to complete this requirement.
  • NEW! Pharmacy technicians, pharmacists and advance practice pharmacists renewing their license after January 1, 2024 will be required to complete a one hour cultural competency CE course each cycle.
  • 1 hour specific to immunizations and vaccines for pharmacists who administer vaccines
  • 10 hour in business and professional code for Advanced Practice Pharmacists. In addition to 30 hours for pharmacist license

Roster Process: Your pharmacy hours will be reported to CPE Monitor within ten business days after course completion.


Rosters are sent to NABP within 10 business days. We are unable to report your hours after 60 days.
