Collaborative Practice Agreements
Course Overview
This course is designed for pharmacists and healthcare providers interested in starting or enhancing collaborative practice agreements. The activity will define collaborative practice agreements, review the essential elements to include, and provide strategies for implementing effective agreements.

Upon the completion of this course, the learner should be able to:
- Define collaborative practice agreements (CPAs) and their role in modern healthcare.
- Identify common elements and variations among select state CPAs.
- Describe the scope of pharmacy services under CPAs and examples in different states.
- Outline strategies for creating and implementing effective CPAs.
About the Author/Presenter
Shyam Gelot, PharmD, CPh, BCPS, is a pharmacist and continuing education content creator who earned his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Additionally, he completed a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency at Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, Florida. Dr. Gelot has experience practicing pharmacy in community, hospital, and academic settings.
