Schizophrenia: Pharmacological Consideration
Course Overview
The purpose of this course is to provide an introduction to the discussion of schizophrenia with a focus on pathophysiology, symptom presentation, diagnostic criteria, clinical presentation, current pharmacological interventions, initiation of treatment, and desired treatment outcomes.

Upon the completion of this course, the learner should be able to:
- Discuss the background and proposed pathophysiology of schizophrenia
- Discuss the symptom presentations of schizophrenia
- Evaluate the process of diagnosing schizophrenia
- Examine the current pharmacological interventions and desired treatment outcomes for schizophrenia
About the Author/Presenter
Abimbola Farinde, PharmD is a clinical pharmacist specialist and college-level educator. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Texas Southern University and has gained a wealth of knowledge and training with the completion of residency training programs and after practicing for several years. Dr. Farinde’s areas of expertise are in mental health, substance abuse, and psychology. She is interested in sharing her knowledge with other professionals engaged in clinical practice.
