Laws, Regulations, and Ethics for Florida Psychologists, 2nd Edition

Course Overview
Psychologists often work with vulnerable individuals in sensitive situations. An important aspect of being a mental health professional, whether you conduct research or provide therapeutic services, is being aware of the ethical issues faced by all psychologists. If you provide psychological services, you are obligated to remain informed about current laws and regulations in your jurisdiction as well as to remain aware of ethical standards and issues.

Learning Outcomes

• Distinguish General Principles from Ethical Standards of the APA Ethics Code of Conduct.
• Demonstrate understanding of how the Ethics Code applies to the practice of professional psychology.
• Analyze ethical decision-making models and their application in psychological practice.

About the Author/Presenter 
Marilou VerBurg Erb, M.A., M.S., J.D., Ph.D., is a former state prosecutor as well as a state judicial law clerk and is currently an affiliate professor at the University of Valley Forge as well as York College of Pennsylvania. She also serves as a consultant for several forensic consulting firms throughout the United States and is a grader of bar review exam questions for BarBri, Incorporated.
