Aging Spine Fitness: Evidence-Based Strengthening Techniques for Seniors from Frail to Active 3
Course release date: 4/6/2026
Course Overview
Back pain is a common condition in older adults, affecting 21 to 68% of adults older than 60 years of age (Wong et al., 2022). Providing rehabilitation to this population is often complicated by age related changes to the spine, co-morbid conditions, and decreased functional mobility. This course will look at important biomechanical concepts regarding spine strengthening and how these biomechanics change with aging. We will look at common spine diagnoses in older adults and outline how to effectively prescribe strengthening exercises that are safe and effective. The goal is to improve your clinical confidence and success in treating older adults with back pain. -
