Recognizing Human Trafficking for Texas Cosmetologists
About the Course
Human trafficking is a pervasive crime that affects millions worldwide, involving the exploitation of individuals for labor or sex through force, fraud, or coercion. This course is designed to educate salon professionals about the critical role they can play in identifying and combating human trafficking. Given their unique position of trust and frequent personal interactions with clients, salon workers are often in a prime position to notice signs of trafficking that others might miss. Participants will learn to recognize indicators of trafficking, understand the complexities of the issue, and gain insights into how traffickers operate. This course will also provide practical guidance on how to safely report suspicions and support potential victims. By equipping salon professionals with this knowledge, the course aims to create safer communities and contribute to the broader efforts to eradicate human trafficking.
