About the Course
This course is designed for licensed cosmetologists working in the state of Texas. Students will learn how to maintain sanitized and bacteria-free tools, equipment, and salon environments to ensure personal and public safety. Given that viruses can mutate and change, staying current on the latest sanitation and sterilization practices is essential. This course includes real-life examples to underscore the importance of proper sanitization and sterilization.

Upon the completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
- Define the laws and regulations for sanitization and sterilization for the licensed salon professional working in the state of Texas.
- Identify the regulations for OSHA, the EPA, and the MSDS.
- Recognize the importance of sanitation, disinfection, and sterilization. Know when, where, and how to use each cleaning method.
- Classify the differing types of bacteria and identify bacterial, fungal, and viral contagions.
- Define Universal Precautions, safety measures for the salon professional, and responsibilities of the salon professional.
