About the Author/Presenter 

Mackenzie Butler, DNP, MSN, RN-BC is the Head of Nursing Products at Colibri Group, where she leads innovative solutions to advance nursing education and professional development. She holds a Doctorate in Nursing Practice and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. In addition to her leadership role, Mackenzie serves as adjunct faculty at the College of Saint Benedict, sharing her expertise with future healthcare professionals. Her professional interests include healthcare simulation and leveraging technology to enhance learning outcomes.

Dr. Vanessa Pomarico is certified as a family nurse practitioner and earned a doctorate in Nursing Education from Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, CT She practices at Northeast Medical Group (NEMG), specializing in Internal Medicine with a special interest in women’s health and transgender healthcare. An author, lecturer, educator, and volunteer, Dr. Pomarico is the transgender healthcare trainer for NEMG system-wide.
Dr. Pomarico is the co-author of two nursing pathophysiology textbooks and a contributing author in “Focus on Adult Health Nursing”. She served on the advisory board for The Jim Collins Foundation, a non-profit organization community-based initiative promoting the self-determination and empowerment of all transgender people. Dr. Pomarico has served as the Co-Chair of Health Policy and is a Past President of the Connecticut Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Society (CTAPRNS). Dr. Pomarico presents locally and nationally.
