Pediatric Headaches: Recognizing the Warning Signs, 2nd Edition

48

Course Overview
In this course, we will delve into the diverse spectrum of headaches in children and adolescents, examining preventive measures, acute headache scenarios, and the crucial identification of “red flags” indicative of serious or life-threatening causes. We will analyze the components of pediatric history and neurological examinations, offering insights into primary and secondary headache examples, and those stemming from various disease processes. By the course’s conclusion, healthcare providers will be equipped to adeptly recognize red flags, articulate signs and symptoms pertinent to pediatric patients with headaches and differentiate between different classifications of these headaches—thereby alerting parents and providers to potential underlying health diagnoses and facilitating timely intervention for improved patient outcomes.
