Course Overview
The goal of this course is to provide students with the knowledge to identify ergonomic risks and make sound ergonomic recommendations to help clients prevent discomfort and injury at a computer. While we review what an ergonomist may recommend in a particular situation, our goal is to give students ergonomic analytical tools and apply this knowledge to any case at hand.
Learning Outcomes
Upon the completion of this course, the learner should be able to:
- Identify common ergonomic obstacles facing clients working at their computer.
- Recognize the purpose, benefits and/or concerns for recommending specific ergonomic products to improve occupational performance.
- Choose customized computer-based ergonomic recommendations, whether they be product, environmental, body mechanic, or stretching suggestions to improve occupational performance.
