Course Overview
This course will review vaccination rules and regulations in the U.S., including recommended vaccines, administration techniques, proper documentation, emergency response, and how to address vaccine hesitancy.

Learning Outcomes 
Upon the completion of this course, the learner should be able to:

  • Examine resources for healthcare providers related to immunizations.
  • Describe routine vaccination recommendations and administration techniques.
  • Discuss key components of the healthcare provider’s role in educating patients about immunizations.
  • Summarize storage and handling of immunizations.
  • Recommend immunizations for specific patient populations.


About the Author/Presenter 
Madeline King, PharmD, is a board-certified infectious diseases pharmacist who currently practices in New Jersey and serves as the codirector for her institution’s outpatient antimicrobial stewardship program. She completed a pharmacy practice residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital followed by an infectious disease residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia. She was an assistant professor of clinical pharmacy for six years before starting her current role as an outpatient and transitions of care infectious diseases specialist. Her professional interests include global health and access to healthcare, and she is currently completing her Master of Public Health (MPH) through the University of Edinburgh.
