About the Course:
As more patients participate in oncology rehabilitation, it is important for physical therapists to understand the precautions, contraindications, and appropriate treatment methods for this population. This intermediate-level course will familiarize the physical therapist with the different forms of cancer, as well as the risk factors and rehabilitation protocols for the care of the oncology patient. The target audience for this education program is physical therapists and physical therapist assistants who are interested in oncology rehabilitation.

About the Author:
Bud Ward, PT, MPT, has been a licensed physical therapist and healthcare leader for over 20 years. He earned his Master’s in Physical Therapy and BS in Applied Health Science from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, as well as a BS in Biology from Salisbury University. He has worked in a variety of settings including corporate, home health, private practice, and The Johns Hopkins Hospital. His clinical background includes orthopedics, sports medicine, pediatric orthopedics, amputee rehabilitation, traumatic fracture management, manual therapy, and oncology rehabilitation. While at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, he treated many patients for orthopedic conditions related to cancer treatments. Bud has been a health and medical writer since 2015 and has authored several continuing education courses for physical therapists.
