About the Course:
This course will discuss the rationale for cultural and linguistic competence, the impact and scope of race and culture on health disparities, strategies for cultural competence, and ways to reduce language barriers in clinical practice.

About the Author:
Julie Heinrichs, PT, DPT earned her BA in English and Master’s in Physical Therapy from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI and her Doctor of Physical Therapy from the MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston, MA. She has over a decade of experience in a variety of inpatient rehabilitation settings, working with adults with stroke, brain injury, trauma, surgery, and chronic conditions. She has several years of experience in continuing education development for physical therapists and is currently the physical therapy education planner for Colibri Healthcare, LLC.
