Mastering the Squat Technique: Evidence-Based Training for Optimal Performance
Course Overview
Dive deep into the science and application of one of fitness’s most fundamental movements in this comprehensive 3-hour continuing education course. This evidence-based program explores the latest research on squat mechanics, muscle activation patterns, and programming strategies for diverse populations. Participants will analyze how variables like intensity, depth, foot position, and equipment choices affect muscle recruitment and training outcomes across different fitness levels. Through video demonstrations, case studies, and practical sample routines, fitness professionals will gain actionable knowledge to optimize squat performance for clients with varying goals—from general fitness and sports performance to rehabilitation and successful aging. Learn to effectively implement modifications, progressions, and specialized techniques that maximize results while ensuring proper form and safety for all clients.
Learning Outcomes
Upon the completion of this course, the learner should be able to:
- Analyze the effectiveness of the squat exercise to activate the gluteal, hamstring, and quadriceps muscles.
- Examine how different intensities of the squat exercise impact workload and muscle performance outcomes.
- Determine how different squat depths influence muscle activation.
- Compare the effects of footwear and heel placement during the squat on muscle activation.
- Develop exercise sessions using the squat exercise, its variants, modifications, and progressions.
